Mike Downes

Mike started as a runner, then worked as a margin clerk, broker, member and floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.  He served as Executive Vice President and National Marketing Director of Heinold Commodities, Inc., with direct supervisory responsibility for  more than one hundred branch offices nationwide.  He owned a 300 cow dairy farm in Wisconsin.  His personal dairy experience gives Mike an understanding of the dairy markets that few, if any, brokers share.  He is a member of the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin and a member and past President of the Chicago Farmers Club.  The Wisconsin Association of County Agricultural Agents also awarded Mike the 1998 Friend of the County Agent Award.
